Birthday Thoughts

Another year, another decade!Yes, he's still a windbag!  Jerry had both an old-fashioned and digital-age 70th birthday celebration. We gathered, we reminisced, we swam, we ate taco dip and birthday cake; we said hi to old friends and opened presents.  But...we also added a few ingredients that weren't even in our wildest dreams 70, or even 20 years ago.

Think about it.  Would you have imagined that we could watch a slideshow of old photos on a 7 x 9" computer weighing 1.5 lbs.?…Using what? Wi-Fi, you say?

But wait, then imagine using your cell phoneCaroline came up with the cleverist gift! to take a picture and then share it instantly with family and friends across the country using an "app" named Instagram, or a "social network" called Twitter or Facebook!  It's not that long ago that we would all think someone had lost it if they told us these things.

Just sayin'.....what might be possible by the time we're singing Happy 80th?!   ;)

Thanks for stopping by at Hurley Travels.  Stay safe.

The Road of Life - Let's Celebrate JR!

Happy Birthday Jerry!!!
My Hubby, call him Jerry or JR or Crash or whatever handle might come to mind, he is all about celebrating each day.  In fact, a repeat quote from him is: "Any day on top of the green is a good day."
So, on this birthday, why not take a look at a few of those days?! I put together a short slideshow below  of memories along Jerry's Road of  Life.  Actually, I found the hardest part was narrowing down the choices and stopping.   Family...friends...travel...trails...reunions...repairs...sunsets on the Bosque, the beach and Sidewinder... to the splendor of Mt. McKinley....we are thankful for the good times and the hard ones, too. Here's a peek at the journey, so far.
